After a leisurely float, explore Gruene, a historic district filled with charming shops, live music venues, and Texas’ oldest dance hall. Savor a delicious meal at one of the local eateries, then soak in the rich history as you stroll along the streets lined with preserved 19th-century buildings. Brenham

Just a short drive away from Katy, you will find Lake Houston Wilderness Park – a hidden gem! This serene natural oasis is a favorite with our family. The park spans over 4,786 acres and is the perfect escape into the wilderness.

The park features a network of well-maintained hiking and biking trails, each catering to different skill levels. The Peach Creek Loop Trail, spanning 4.8 miles, takes you through dense forests and alongside scenic waterways. You can also enjoy canoeing and kayaking at the park.

The lake is also a haven for anglers. Cast your line and try your luck at catching a variety of fish species, including catfish, bass, and crappie. Keep an eye out for deer, armadillos, raccoons, and a plethora of bird species that live here.

Austin

Austin is the vibrant state capital of Texas. It is more of a weekend destination but can also be seen on a day trip if you want to take family and friends. The city has a very hip and trendy vibe and feels very modern for the most part.
